I once was afraid of turning myself upside down

I once was afraid of turning myself upside down. As a yoga instructor, I saw inversions as poses that would eventually come but made no real attempts to get there. I knew this because when I practiced preparation poses I saw that my legs would not go up over my head. I reflected on my fear. I trusted the wall and myself to just try. It took a workshop not far from the beach where I met several other yogis. But there against a floor and turquoise background, I let my legs get carried away. I practiced and practiced this practice. I was relieved that when I stood upside down and on my head, the contents of my fear spilled out.
