to my yoga teacher trainers a year later
Can you believe it has been a year since we walked unknowingly into Bonda Yoga that early September day? I met you all when I was still in a crossroad of returning home and trying to make my own; Just out of school and everywhere to go. So much has happened since we last saw one another and yet I can picture each weekend very clearly: the argyle socks, back pillows, the stretching, anxiety, and the love. I have since become... a yoga instructor. But also in one long September to now the end of another I have fallen in love, held many jobs sometimes 4 at a time, experienced loss from a friend's death, left the state for days at a time, started graduate school, struggled with at home business, returned to camp, stood before a classroom and was the girl "in charge", ran a race quicker than I thought, stood on a stage and laughed at myself, sat in my car and listened to mostly Oprah's favorite books, made art, contemplated 100 unfinished projects, made money and spent it even faster, and yet smiled at the end of the day almost everyday because who knows what will come next?
There are so many ways I am still a yogi and so many ways I have yet to be. What I am learning about life is that in order to be a teacher or really anything requiring respect you must also be willing to learn. It is so complicated and simple at the same time: learn more, understand in time. Learn over time your understanding with time.
I sold myself until I had a tag line I lost myself until I read instructions, I found myself and could read between the lines, and love myself until it became my song.
Thank you for continuing to be part of my soundtrack.
